- The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said they are discouraging people from purchasing Mississippi Cottages for housing at an auction in Louisiana next month because the units were damaged by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. MEMA Director Mike Womack wants to caution potential buyers that these units are not safe to live in. ?Buyers need to beware? MEMA Director Mike Womack said. ?These units are not safe for housing because of water damage and mold which can be dangerous to a person?s health. The damage might not be readily visible to onlookers or potential buyers.

Attorneys for MJJ Productions which sued an auction house last week claiming it had no right to sell Jackson’s possessions has filed documents in court allowing auction plans to proceed until April 3 when the original lawsuit is set to be heard. Attorneys for Julien’s Auction House and founder Darren Julien jointly filed the document Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. “They’ve agreed for us to continue to promote the exhibit and auction” said Julien adding that he “hopes and expects” that Jackson’s team will honor their original contract and allow the auction to be held April 21 as scheduled. Bank of America Corp. 5 million in auction-rate securities it can’t unload because credit-market turmoil has frozen the entire auction system for over a year filed suit against Bank of America in Chicago this week demanding that the bank which sold it the troublesome debt instruments buy them back.
